There are currently some compatibility issues with Slate Digital plugins.
Current status is that the AU versions crash on OSX.
I advise any users that have issues with Slate plugins to contact slate support. This is because it is impossible to fix these issues without help from Slate (since the crashes come from inside their code) and Slate Digital does not want to cooperate on the issues.
Here is Slate’s response:
Unfortunately at this time, our developers have no interest in supporting LiveProfessor. We have not had significant enough demands or requests to support this DAW.
So in short, as many as you need to complain to Slate.October 13, 2018 at 15:51 #5519
I think I tried one of their plug-ins (VST) long time ago inside Live Professor 1 and it worked. Do you know if the issue of crashing occurs with AU format only and perhaps not VST?

On windows all should be good. on Mac VST works but not AUNovember 6, 2018 at 18:05 #5564peterjkParticipant
Why not just use VST on Mac then? What is the downside to that? If any? Is AU more efficient?November 6, 2018 at 20:45 #5569
The “downside” is that I don’t own a Mac and will not be buying one just on account of a plug-in.

I don’t understand Juha. My question were why use AU on Mac if VST works. Is there a downside to VST on Mac? If you own a pc and use VST the Slate plugins works, right?November 7, 2018 at 21:55 #5576huubParticipant
There is no downside to using VST. Works fine.
I would have preferred to only use AU to keep things more organised (I usually do not install VST versions of plug ins)
