    Hey there,

small thing. Wireview is quite messy to look at (compared to the upcoming Kushview Element’s superclean look for example)
That said, I still like the more detailed look of LP2s wireview, but still: it would be extremely helpful when an item
is clicked/selected in the Navigator, it automatically gets selected and zoomed to center in the Wireview.
Multi-out Modules take up so much space in wireview and it gets cluttered very quickly.

I think this would make a lot of sense.

    Best,
    tL.

(It actually also looks like Kushview Element uses the same basis for it’s app as LP2, very similar looks, especially the Patchbay…
    Take a look… https://kushview.net/element/ )

    Hi

Yes the Wire view could probably do with some clean up. Kushviews’s is based on the same framework it seems, but of course the wire view there is more simple, it is lacking a lot of functions.
I see that the change to make plugins open all I/O as default kind of makes live professors wire view cluttered.

I’ll see if I can add the scroll to selected plugin feature. Any other input on the wire view would be great.

Absolutely. I definitely like the detailed view far more. Maybe a zoom in/out function would already help here. With the
default LP2 zoom level being like it is now and the ability to zoom out a little bit more.
Maybe when zooming out, less detail is shown? To get a birds-eye view of the project?
(or a simple “mini-map” somewhere, maybe in the lower right corner for example that is draggable/clickable for navigation.)

I see that the change to make plugins open all I/O as default kind of makes live professors wire view cluttered.

Yes, but I think this is hard to avoid. Bidule has the same problem. Bidule kinda gets aroudn this by by letting the user pick from
several output options the plugin has before instanciating. (i.e. pluginA_(2out), pluginA_(8-out), pluginA(16out) etc.)
but that is awful for the plugin list.

I’ll see if I can add the scroll to selected plugin feature.

Maybe a right-click menu item on the plugins in the navigator list like: “Show (or center) plugin in wire-view”?

Wireview in general: Another idea that would help in wireview would be that right-clicking on the arrow of a cable could allow to
insert plugin into selected signal chain.(i.e.: in most cases, this would auto-connect a new plugin with 4 cables,
stereo in/out, inbetween 2 modules which reduces the manual cabling quite a lot, thus saves a lot of time in the long run.)

An alternative would be: When let’s say cmd-dragging a plugin over a cable the cables could highlight and you could insert the plugin right away
in the signal flow. Not sure if this isn’t the much harder thing to realize though.

Also: cmd-click and drag on an empty space in the canvas could let you navigate the canvas by simply draggin it around.
(Shift)-Scrollwheel is okay but not quite as convenient. This is a very small thing though.

For now, that’s all I can think of.

    Best,
    tL.

(By the way: Personally, I’d like to see an advanced option in LP2 to allow for feedback routing. Which of course should be off by default and
when turned on probably should come with a warning for inexperienced users. But feedback wiring is awesome…and the strength of modular environments anyways, so why not use it.)

Oh, and regarding the original idea (Auto-zoom to selected module in Wireview):

Maybe it can be done far easier with the Audio Patch window. That would help already as well.
(So that the list scrolls to the selected module and highlights the item in the Audio Patch list)
