I’m new here and I hope to find some answers- thanks for your help!
I’m a FoH Engineer with different german artists and I am using LP2 for the first time in combination with my DLive setup. Has anyone yet tried to control / recall cues / snapshots via the Allen&Heath TCP/IP Midi Driver?
Dlive sends Program Change Data when recalling a scene (always “Scene Number -1”), so I have dedicated Midi Data for each scene. So now it would be perfect to recall the same scenes / snapshots in LP2. The problem is, that LP2 seems to only realize any program change Data as one (same) value.
Has anyone tried this before with this Midi driver? Thanks a lot for your help!May 21, 2018 at 15:49 #3952NikolaiKeymaster
This sounds more like a bug on my end, are you using the new midi trigger button in the Global Snapshots list ?May 26, 2018 at 14:32 #5207NikolaiKeymaster
Looking into this, I can’t seem to recreate it. When you click learn on the snapshots, does it say the correct Program Change number on each snapshot ?May 29, 2018 at 13:54 #5216dala08Participant
2.2 made it! Midi Trigger for global snapshot helped a lot!
And secondly the problem was, that A&H is sending program change data AND controle data for tapping the „recall“ button on the console. And LP only recognized the controls data. So simply the learn function did not work, but manually setting up the correct program change trigger works 👍🏻

I use LP2 with out dLive consoles and link snapshots frequently!
…and yeah, you have to manually tell it to use program change values for any snapshot on the dLive you want to link. Check out dLive Firmware 1.7 though! You *also* have the option now to send custom midi with every snapshot recall.
One thing to consider though: embedded recalls do *not* issue a midi bang on dLive. This goes for embedded recalls that are internal to a single console, as well as embedded recalls that cue another console on the network. I have whined about it to Allen Heath and they are going to be fixing that issue in a future firmware update; as of 1.7 it’s still not fixed, but I suspect soon! (Super irritating, because I have an embedded recall on our FOH console that tells BROADCAST console to begin DAW recording, and right now I have to go in and manually hit the cue on the second console for it to work.)
