ParticipantI got now big and weird issues with this damned Voxengo Soniformer.
In a projetc with a chain of 3 plugs (GlissEq, Soniformer, LFMax Punch all VST3) :
96 Khz/96 spl / DSP between 30 and 45 %
Music on inputs/speakers outputI did play some music in the chain, playing around with plugs, everything was smooth with no clicks at all.
I went out from home with the whole thing still running for about 3 hours.
When i came back, that was clean, no click, no heat, no overload, perfect.I close the project, reboot the mac, load LP and load the same project.
Now i got lot of glitches and drops…And weird thing if i pause the music (no sound going in the chain nore Soniformer) the DSP goes 100% if play back music again DSP become to 30-40%.
But still cracking, glitching…If i bypass Soniformer, everything become smooth and ok..
I keep you informed.

Keymasterok, THAT is strange. I’m tempted to blaim the soniformer.
the only code that is "level-dependent" in Liveprofessor are the meters, but they still operate as usual if you bypass the plugin,. so 😯February 26, 2016 at 01:34 #3466no_user no_user
ParticipantYes, it is a Soniformer issue, even alone in the project i got the same issues…

It is very weird to have DSP overloading when switching sound on/off 🙄

ParticipantSolved the ´pause music overload’ issue by going in Analog inputs instead of Spdif inputs to the Rme card…
Solved the Soniformer slowdown graphics by switching the Internal Soniformer UI scale to 100% instead of 125 or 150%…(all below 125 are smooth graphics)

Great, then there is some sort of issue with the soniformer when giving it -00 sound like the case with digital input.

Participantquote :Great, then there is some sort of issue with the soniformer when giving it -00 sound like the case with digital input.I had back the same issue this week-end, DSP going to 100% when no sound going into the chain with a Soniformer 😯 (ADAT connections, did not try in Analog)
💡 I restart the RME driver it goes back to normal DSP use,
💡 I send audio -> ok
❗ I stop sending audio -> DSP goes to 100%As soon as i send audio back, it becomes normal. Very weird !

KeymasterSounds like old school denormalization issue?:

Wow that looks crap !
I’ll try with AU version to see if it changes something.

Participant[UPDATE]
I did the wrong test, i was still using a VST. Seems that the AU version of Soniformer solved the DSP Panic issue ❗ 🙂
Need to test it in live in 3 days to make sure !
Thanks Nikolaï the new RC version rocks 😉 😉
Hi NikolaÏ,
Same issues with AU version.
I did bunch of gigs these last weeks on LP2 and i still experienced the same weird 100% DSP when no audio going thru the chain.
When at 100% (during a changeover when all mics/sources are muted) i hopefully don’t hear any audio crack or glitch so not a big deal except that the DSP meter is red and it’s freaking me out 😛Have you ask Voxengo about this ? If not i will take time to ask them.
I need to make deeper tests but i can see that weird DSP things usually happens when "idle" for a long time with no sound in the chain. I need to "reload" the audio card to make DSP going back to "normal" % .

Hi
No I have not talked to Voxengo about it, if you could get in touch with them I would be very happy!May 23, 2016 at 11:48 #3473no_user no_user
