Behringer X-Touch MCU/HUI - Error Knobs and Fader

Postby javierofracchia » Thu Oct 12, 2017 4:04 pm

Hello!
Sorry for my bad English.

Try to configure the controller in MCU mode, whether faders or rotary knobs do not have range, even adjusting transform parameters, the faders are turned on / off, the knobs go crazy.

In HUI mode the fader works correctly! but the knobs are still the same.

What I can do?

Thank you very much!

Hi
I do not know this device, but could it be that this device sends out NRPN midi data?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NRPN
This means it sends two messages for each knob. Currently LiveProfessor does not support this, only standard midi messages (1-127)

I was reading about it, I did not know.
Do I have any options?
Do you have any updates planned for this?
I was excited to be able to combine lp2 with x32 rack through the x-touch.
Thank you.

Hmm. I'm pretty sure it is possible to make this work.
Let me read up on the device. Exactly which X-Touch device is this (The complete name)?

Behringer X-Touch only (clarified because there is also the mini and compact version)

I await your comments, thank you!

HUI is a standard midi control protocol for daw and have to pay a licence to implement it (no complete datasheet aviable from the web only partial can be find)
it use a part of standard midi control but also non registred parametrer
all fader (8) use a different midi channel with 10 bit message data

Hi
I have looked at this now, and the X-Touch only sends out these special protocols. The other units "Compact" and "Extender" can also send normal midi, and have an editor.
It would probably be possible to add support for it in LiveProfessor, but it would require some research and special coding.

Yes, it sends Behringer's own XCTL protocol, but it can also be configured as HUI or MCU (Mackie). That's where your RNPN comment comes in.

On this point, do you plan to add support?
Thank you!

it is difiult to implement this without licencing the Mackie protocol no datasheet aviable but it's a good protocol with return of the name and value for all parameters
