Do you need to re-arrange the I/O ? In a way that plugin A should have input 5 instead of input 1, or something?
June 27, 2018 at 10:12 #5282Hi Nikolai,
It’s when changing between audio devices , had a madi device at work but in pre prod at home I would replace with an aes device or the mac’s built in inputs and outputs.’.. There’s over 70 global snapshots to change, for now i have to update every device with the new hardware selection inputs and outputs and then back again when i go to work…the madi device (madi card) is attached to my console so can,t be easily moved…
Thx

I think I get it. Not sure how this behaves on your setup, but here are some tips.
In Audio & Midi Options you can save the “Active Channels” to a file, one for each sound device.
this is handy if you have one device that starts it’s “useful” inputs at 32 and one that starts at 1. (Many RME devices have the analog first for instance)
Also, unless you actively change the audio routing on each snapshot, just filter it out of all the snaps, this way you only have to update the routing once.
Click the F button, and make sure Routing is coloured red. (You can save this as a “No Routing” preset, or as the default filter for new snapshots.
In the same way, you could have one snapshot for each device, setting the routing of the connected device.
So you would have three snapshots:
MADI, AES, Other-Sound-Card. On these you set everything filtered (red) except routing (green) then these snapshots will recall the routing for each sound device
Hope this helps
