Does LP2 respond to the song position pointer messages? It doesn’t seem like it.

It does respond to ‘MIDI Start’, but it simply triggers the transport’s play button (rather than reset the song position to the beginning, as per midi specs).

But it’d be really nice if I could send it an SPP message

    Hi

No song position is not supported at the moment.

Midi Stop will return to zero.

Where in the spec does it say that start should go to zero? I guess that would make sense as there is a Continue message also.

    Thanks for the response.

It’s not a big deal. I was just trying to keep my looper from drifting out of time with the transport. But there are other work-arounds for that.

Personally, I’d prefer that LP2 remain an optimized VST host rather than a full-blown DAW, so maybe song position isn’t that important. But ‘start’ would be really useful. Maybe in a future release?

btw, here’s the section from the MIDI 1.0 Detailed Specification:

Start (FAH) is sent when a PLAY button on the master (sequencer or drum
machine) is pressed. This message commands all receivers which are slaved
to incoming Real Time messages (MIDI Sync mode) to start at the beginning
    of the song or sequence.
